What is UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate?
UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate now reaches well over 23 million exclusive subscribers/clients via a virtual multitude of high-profile content aggregators, syndication companies and subscriber-based, co-branded EXCLUSIVE RSS feeds. We are NOT simply a web-based publication [which is quite often a huge misconception] the UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate web site is merely a "marketing tool" which is used to effectively sell syndicated content feeds to prospective clients/buyers we are a vast entertainment news syndicate.

How, exactly, does UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate conduct product reviews?
Our editorial staff test and review all types of products [from books to TVs to DVDs to toys to CDs and much much more based on a list of significant criteria
whether or not they are user-friendly, easy-to-handle, the product's overall originality, its durability and functionality, the persistence of a high-quality standard and more importantly, the product's perceived overall longevity. We base all of our meticulous product evaluations on what immediately identifies the key drivers of a product's performance, where “performance” is measured in a variety of ways, including solid up-front legwork; intelligent and concise product definition; a cross-functional strongly woven editorial team approach; focus and project prioritization coupled with a high standard of review execution.

Can you ELABORATE on your product review procedure?
UPBEAT believes in a methodical and hands-on approach to product testing and keeps in mind the point of view of an average person. We do not write our reviews/features based on press releases. A combination of highly skilled editors combined with experienced contributing writers have allowed us to produce the most respected product reviews in the industry, month after month, for over 10 years now. We strive for fairness, balance, accuracy, and consistency in all of our reviews, and especially our product-based features. Regardless of whether the product vendor is large or small, we use the same standard to measure the value of a product to our subscribers. Bottom line: if the product "measures" up, then we create a spectacular review. We will NOT write negative reviews. If we do not care for a particular product, we simply do not review it. It is just that simple.

If we send along several products for review, are we then guaranteed a review or feature?
No. Nothing guarantees a review or a feature, not even a hefty bribe. You see, our subscribers trust that we will continue to maintain our commitment to "excellence" and recommend only the BEST products.

Why isn't our product review featured on your web site?
UPBEAT Entertainment News is updated with new content, but not on a "regular" basis. Why? Well, that's because our web site is essentially used as a "marketing tool" to generate content sales. If we were to present the same "exclusive" content on our web site that we sell to all of our incredibly selfless, loyal subscribers, we wouldn't be considered very "exclusive" at all, now would we? And that wouldn't exactly be fair to all of the extraordinarily amazingly wonderful folks who actually pay us their hard-earned money to sit here and write all of this stuff, now would it?

What is your policy on product returns?
We DO NOT return products that are sent to us, regardless of the size or value of the product. Why? Because we are not a shipping and receiving company nor do we employ a shipping and receiving staff. We receive thousands of products for review and not only do we NOT stock and tag items, we refuse to rent a warehouse. Also, due to the numerous legal ramifications associated with the potential damage or loss of any product, we CANNOT legally be responsible for any product submitted to us for review. Aside from that, our attorneys already lecture us incessantly about so many other issues that we've decided not to add to their obvious paranoia and distrust for anything and anyone regardless of how much we protest.

What happens to a product once it has been reviewed?
UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate is associated with and employs a number of high school and college interns, all of whom are talented and innovative beyond words. At UPBEAT, we also believe that education is an extraordinarily powerful tool that can help change a life and OUR future. We have continued to donate products to all of our interns as well as numerous schools and colleges throughout the entire country. UPBEAT continues to raise community awareness about the importance of educating our youth— as an advocate on behalf of all students at every age level. Our motive is actually rather simple by its very nature, to help to further promote and endorse an extensive infrastructure of tenaciously-promoted educational programs, the very source of creating social and cultural awareness, tolerance, peace and creativity.

What is the advantage of the UPBEAT syndication model?
The advantage of having several massive syndication outlets at our fingertips is the ability to implement and execute a unique editorial policy. By the very nature of "real time" syndication, we are able to promptly determine what readers, subscribers and exclusive clients are interested in by examining an array of demographics and detailed statistics. This takes our feelings, guesses, personal observations and opinions out of the editorial equation in all areas of our content syndication model.

How should I "pitch" a client for an interview?
Pitch us short. We are not looking for an essay or a dissertation. We get millions of pitches for each individual feature, and we need to get the basic gist of each pitch in as a short a time frame as possible, because let’s face it, the pubs and bars in LA, NYC and Pittsburgh aren’t open 24 hours a day, meaning there’s only a limited time for us to drink. So please... keep it concise. Pitch us the basics. Concise doesn't mean bereft of all detail. We occasionally get a pitch that says something like— "My client X would be good for this. Would you like to speak to him/her?" with no information as to who they are or anything that remotely resembles a clue. We detest mysteries. We only need a couple of paragraphs explaining who your client is and why we might find him/her interesting. Don't leave us hanging once we accept your pitch. That just makes us spit venom! Because if we've replied positively to your pitch that means we will have already turned down another interview in favor of yours, and by the time we realize you're not playing ball, it will often be too late to arrange another interview in its place. So if you don't respond when we accept your pitch, we'll do one of two things [or quite possibly both]: A. Abandon any further dialogue with you and then re-contact someone else who we wrongly rejected [hoping for the best]. B. Hunt you down, and attack you with a stapler.

Where is UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate listed?
