Kristin Roberts The Postal Recipe Corner

Kristin Roberts was born and raised in Jefferson, Iowa, which provided a bucolic backdrop equal to that of Mayberry. Drawn to the written word early on, she lurked in the darkened hallways of her high school as an underclassman, waiting to make a deal. A literary deal, that is. She had made an arrangement with an upperclassman to complete their journalism assignments for the school newspaper...just for the fun of it. She would later learn the proper terminology for this was ghostwriting. Albeit without pay. After finally getting to be a legitimate member of the newspaper staff, she was in heaven surrounded by the “pics and picas” and the glorious scent of ink. Kristin attended Iowa State University majoring in History and Art. Go figure! She then moved to Northern California in search of a life filled with the television and movie quality excitement her hometown lacked. After a few years of wondering which neighbor or co-worker might appear on ‘Cops,’ she and her husband decided they’d had enough ‘excitement’ and made the move back home. Having experienced enough of the frustrations of "conventional" employment, she made the leap of faith and began writing on a freelance basis from her home office. She has written for various clients such as Gibson Greetings, Remedia Publications and a research firm. She also does grant and marketing related writing, as well as columns for different venues. She has written several children’s stories and recently completed her first novel. She is also looking forward to trying her hand at screenwriting. Kristin found that contrary to Thomas Wolfe, you can go home again. While some things may have changed, she found her husband’s family provided the perfect cast for their reintroduction to 'Mayberry,' complete with an Andy Taylor and Aunt Bea.
