 "Funny, you don't look like a popcorn munching desert rat!" People are always telling Janice Oberding this. Ah, but looks can be deceiving. She really is a desert rat. Janice has worked in both the gaming and the entertainment industry. She is a freelance writer and photographer who has several articles and two screenplays to her credit. Now, if she just happens to be in exactly the right spot, at precisely the right time, she may even be able to sell one of them. Her mother knows talent when she reads it and she thinks the scripts are damn well written. so... how's that for an unbiased opinion? When Janice isn't in front of the monitor or behind the camera, she can be found foraging around in some Nevada ghost town far out in the desert with her sidekick husband, Bill. Research for that next knock-em-dead screenplay. The Nevada desert may be her second love, after Bill of course, but films are third. She considers herself to be a lifelong film buff, having spent the weekends of her childhood at the matinees in the old Del-Rey Theater in Seaside, California. Janice was of course, one of those weird little kids who quoted film lines. She may have actually learned to read while trying to decipher the fast moving sub-titles of those fascinatingly mysterious foreign films. She will neither admit nor deny this. She does, however, claim that subtitles beat out dubbing every time. Janice has never met a film she didn't find something to like about. Regardless of the genre, she loves them all.
Yes— even 'Plan 9 From Outer Space.' We do need comic relief from time to time, after all. Of course, she does indeed have her favorites, Film Noir, and Comedy, Adam Sandler style. So many films, so little time, Janice thinks a day that doesn't include viewing at least one film is a complete waste of time. Without further ado folks... "Roll it!"
