Francisco Castro was born in the Central American country of El Salvador where he was raised by loving grandparents. He grew up riding his bicycle, reading books and watching as many cartoons as he could. Francisco came to the United States when he was 15-years-old to join his mother and sisters. After attending San Fernando High School and honing his
English speaking skills, Francisco went on to college to become a Doctor. Along the way he stumbled onto journalism and decided to change his major. During his college years he attended New Mexico State University, George Washington University and California State University Northridge, where he graduated in 1997. Before graduating with a degree in Journalism, Francisco spent six months in Washington, D.C. working as a legislative aid in a lobbying firm and learning his way around Congress. Francisco has been earning a living with the written word since 1994 when he first started writing for NMSU's student newspaper, The Round Up. Since then, he has worked for various small newspapers and a magazine publisher. At this time, Francisco works as Editor and Translator for YesRx.com, an online pharmacy where he gives free rein to his researching and writing desires. He is also a freelance writer for different publications and websites. When he's not writing, Francisco likes to spend his days hiking in the trails around Los Angeles with his wife, Maria, or simply "laying low" around the house watching soccer, one of his passions.
