Eric Gargiulo
who we at UPBEAT often refer to as "The Philly
Crippler", has been
actively involved in the pro wrestling entertainment industry for
a little over 8 years. Gargiulo
started out by contributing regularly to several news oriented
pro wrestling hotlines. He also helped to launch the popular RF Video
Hotline to the astonishing level of 5,000 calls a day. The RF
Video Hotline is a revolutionary concept, mixing wrestling news with a unique and
equally entertaining reporting style. Gargiulo
also interviewed and co wrote all of the RF Video Shoot Interviews from
1995 until 1999. A innovative concept that continues to be copied by today's biggest promotions.
Gargiulo
also spent some time as a ring announcer for Extreme Championship Wrestling from
1995 until 1999. Gargiulo announced
to one of ECW's largest crowd at that time in August of 1997 in front of
a sell out crowd of 5,000 people. In 1999 along with Rob Feinstein, Eric launched the radio show Pro Wrestling Weekly on for WBCB
in Philadelphia. The show's very first guest was the WWF's Chris Jericho.
Gargiulo
has been hosting the radio show solo, since May of 1999. The show features regular guests from all
of the major pro wrestling promotions and has caught the ear of
several wrestling insiders who have praised Gargiulo
for his accuracy. Past guests have included Bret Hart, Rick Steamboat, Shane Douglas, Edge, Justin Credible, Tommy Dreamer, Dory Funk Jr., Nikita Koloff, Rena Mero, Marc Mero, Terry Taylor, Les Thatcher, and
many more. Eric Gargiulo has
also been a contributing writer on one of the internet's hottest
pro wrestling sites, 1wrestling.com since July of 1999. In the spring of 2000, Eric started working with the group Combat Zone Wrestling. Gargiulo
currently does the play by play for CZW, along with his color man John House.
