Voted "Inn of the Year," Most Romantic Bed and Breakfast— The Rosewood Country Inn of Bradford, New Hampshire, has been named Inn of the Year for 2002 by respected guidebook author Pamela Lanier. Readers of The Complete Guide to Bed & Breakfasts, Inns & Guesthouses in the U.S., Canada, and Worldwide, by Lanier voted for the inn that they saw as the best in nation. The Rosewood was also voted the Most Romantic B&B/ Country Inn by readers of Arrington's Bed and Breakfast Journal. More than 750 inns across the country were considered by readers, but the Rosewood took top honors as the most romantic place to stay. "Each year we receive thousands of ballots from satisfied inn-goers." said Lanier. "This accomplishment of commitment to excellence is awarded from Lanier Publishing as a show of appreciation and support for their hard work and dedication" According to Arrington's managing editor, Stephanie Smith, "This is quite an honor since the inns that were selected represent the top, three percent of country inns and bed and breakfasts in the United States." The Rosewood Country Inn occupies on 12 hilltop acres in the town of Bradford in the Dartmouth/Lake Sunapee Region of New Hampshire, about 90 minutes from Boston. Built around 1850, the Rosewood offers 11 guest suites and was recognized for its sunlit porches, inviting common rooms, fireplaces, and whirlpool tubs,. With its early Victorian style in a historic rural setting, the Rosewood offers visitors an atmosphere of warmth and relaxation.

Founded in 1896 by Mr. & Mrs. Edward Messer, the Inn was then known as Pleasant View Farm. In the early 1900's, Jack London, Gloria Swanson, Mary Pickford, Charlie Chaplin and the Gish Sisters were among the famous celebrities that signed the Inn's guest register. The Inn is open 11 months a year. There is an abundance of recreational activities in the area, including skiing, hiking, swimming, and fishing. It is a relaxing and romantic environment for a getaway year-round. In the past the innkeepers Dick and Lesley Marquis have won other honors for their property, being selected as "One of New Hampshire's Eight Most Romantic Inns" by Chronicle Books and as "Inn of the Year" by the State of New Hampshire.
