John
Viscardi, or "Johnnie V" as we all commonly refer to him, has
spent well over 15 years in the entertainment industry as a
producer, writer and phenomenal performer. Formerly with Warner
Brothers Television Development, John is currently the Vice
President of Grungie Productions, Inc., a New York based
production company as well as the Vice President of Creative
Development for Nite Owl Productions, Inc. He is also the
co-founder and artistic director of the Essential Theatre Blah
Blah Blah, Inc. also in New York City. In 2004, John and his
"better half", Actress Fiona Hutchison, founded The Copake
Theater Company in Copake, New York. He has written several
award winning plays as well as a number of screenplays and
teleplays. John has produced a number of award winning short
films as well, and is currently working on a screenplay for OCT
7 Productions. A huge fan of the HBO Original Series, THE
SOPRANOS, John guest-starred as Agent Jeffries in Season Five
Episode 2 entitled, Rat Pack. His performance was "balls on" as
usual so much so that we still allow him to tell us long-winded,
animated stories about how "cool" it was to hang out with "Tony
and DA BOYS". He also had notable guest spots on the shows LAW &
ORDER and LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT. John recently wrapped up
a critically acclaimed theater stint in Syracuse New York where
he performed in Neil Simon’s LOST IN YONKERS, winner of both the
Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award. As Louie, the
gangster-escaping uncle, John was absolutely spectacular. The
play received numerous rave reviews and extended its run as a
direct result of John's incredible charisma and engagingly
humorous wit. An obviously impressed critic from the NY Post
raved, "Even more fun is Uncle Louie [John Viscardi], who packs
his pistol under his coat and appears to be a Runyonesque
small-time hood, delivering lines like 'Nothin' sweeter than
danger, eh?' Worried about an ominous black Studebaker parked
nearby, Louie dispenses the hard wisdom of the street as a
substitute father. If the boys are planning to rob somebody,
they can rule out getting rich fast. Viscardi's Louie is
reliable fun in scene after scene." Not one to ever shy away
from additional film work, John is now in pre-production for the
film, 508 Nelson, he plays a character named Rich Henson, but
thus far he's literally kept us all in the dark as to what sort
of character Henson is. The film is being directed by Joshua B.
Hamlin, a promising actor-turned director.
