Beth E. Cochran was a Producer for
the TV show “Soap Talk” and has recently crowned herself “Queen
of All Soaps.” She has also been an Associate Producer for the
daytime talk show, “Dr. Phil.” Before getting her big break and
realizing her dream of making television, Ms. Cochran was a also
writer and editor for magazines such as Soap Opera Magazine, Soapdish, Soap Opera News, Soap Opera Digest, Soap Opera Update,
Entertainment Weekly and Woman’s World. Raised on soap operas by
her mother, grandmother and aunt, “Soap Talk” has given her a
place where she can finally put all that otherwise useless soap
opera knowledge and trivia to use. She would like to thank her
family for their unwavering support of her dreams and goals,
even though her dad still blames her mother for her career
choices and blurts out such things as “It’s your fault she’s not
a doctor or lawyer. You made her watch all those stupid soap
operas!” at holidays and special occasions. Ms. Cochran is also
an active member of the Television Academy of Arts and Sciences
and a volunteer for the Academy’s National Television Archives.
She also serves on the Academy’s National Awards Committee for
the Primetime Emmy Awards. As an Executive Editor and writer for
UPBEAT Entertainment News Syndicate on and off since its
inception, she fondly remembers running around like a crazed
stalker looking for photos of Tom Cruise on Hollywood Boulevard
in Los Angeles and would like to thank her longtime friend
Bridget Petrella for getting her into this whole ridiculous mess
in the first place.
