Established artists and
unsigned bands alike use MySpace Music to get their songs out there and connect with fans. It's a special section of the MySpace Web site (along the line of eBay Motors within eBay) with music-related features. At MySpace Music, adding a really cool song to your musical playlist is easy. Visit Myspace Music http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music and find a song you want to add. If the artist has given permission to share the music, you'll see an "Add" link next to the song. Click "Add" and the song will play on your profile! Only one song can be added to your profile at one time. If you want to change songs, simply find another song and click "Add." To remove the song, go to Home >> Edit Profile >> Profile Songs and click "Delete." MySpace Music's process of selection for featured artists is done on an editorial basis, meaning that they feature bands who are getting particular attention on the site from the users and are contributing new or interesting music. You must have a Band/Artist profile in order to upload your music. Once you have created a Band/Artist profile, click 'Edit Profile' > 'Manage Songs' tab, and then upload the mp3 in question. For unsigned artists, MySpace's social-networking setup is ideal. Local bands have always developed a following through word of mouth. With MySpace, they have instant access to potential fans outside their geographic region. A Pittsburgh band can end up in the Friend Space of someone in Italy in a matter of minutes. And MySpace offers the most valuable asset an unsigned band can hope for: Exposure. No one is entirely sure why MySpace has become what other sites have dreamed about— a place where musicians can get their music out there in a major way without the help of a label.

MySpace is an online community that lets you meet your friends' friends. Create a private community on MySpace and you can share photos, journals and interests with your growing network of mutual friends! See who knows who, or how you are connected. Find out if you really are six people away from Kevin Bacon. MySpace is for everyone: Friends who want to talk Online, Single people who want to meet other Singles, Matchmakers who want to connect their friends with other friends, Families who want to keep in touch— map your Family Tree, Business people and co-workers interested in networking, Classmates and study partners... Anyone looking for long lost friends! UB
